Friday 5/31/13:  Fun and Fitness day.  We are looking for donations from parents.  Please review the DONATIONS LIST to see if you can help.  Don’t forget to cover your children with sun screen.  Rain date is scheduled for Monday 6/3/13.

Fun and Fitness Volunteer Form & T-Shirt payment due back to school.  Fun and Fitness day is Friday 5/31/13 with a rain date of Monday 6/3/13.

You may submit your interest in applying for a PTO board position by emailing your intent to:  pto.franklinschool@gmail.com, or you may drop off your letter in the PTO mailbox, located in the Franklin School main office.  All Letters of Intent must be received by 3:00pm, Monday 4/8/13 in the office or via the PTO email address.

Family preview night is Wednesday4/17/13 from 6:00 — 8:00pm.  Student shopping on 4/18-19.  If you are planning to allow your children to purchase items please be sure that they have cash or check to pay for their purchases.  Only those children that have a means to pay will be allowed to return to make their purchases on Friday 4/19/13.

We will be discussing improvement options such as classroom air conditioners and playground equipment replacement/upgrades.

At the March meeting, Karen Antone, Parent Group Specialist of SPANNJ Start Project will give a presentation entitled “parent Involvement in Special Education:  Overview of Rights”. Parents will learn to identify their dreams and goals for their children and their rights and responsibilities as parents of children with special needs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Families will gain the knowledge and strategies necessary to be equal partners in the IPE planning team and the special education program.
